The Kubota L4060 is a 4WD compact utility tractor from the L60 series. The Kubota L4060 is equipped with a 2.4 L four-cylinder diesel engine and one of three transmissions: hydrostatic transmission with infinite (3-range) forward and reverse gears (L4060HST and L4060HSTC), glide shift transmission with 12 forward and 8 reverse gears (L4060GST) or synchronized shuttle transmission with 8 forward and 8 reverse gears (L4060DT).

The Kubota L4060 compact utility tractor used the Kubota V2403-CR-E4 engine. It is a 2.4 L, 2,434 cm², four-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 87.0 mm (3.43 in) of the cylinder bore and 102.4 mm (4.03 in) of the piston stroke. This engine produced 40.5 PS (29.8 kW; 40.0 HP) of net horsepower.

The Kubota L4060 is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, wet disc type brakes, open operator station with two-post foldable ROPS (L4060HST, L4060GST, L4060DT) or Grand Cab with air-conditioning (L4060HSTC), and 51.0 liters (13.5 US gal.; 11.2 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
